Some things are already in progress

Hello Fellow Stitchers
Wow! what a great Cookie Tour. This was our best yet. Many of you have collected a lot of cookie cutters over the past three years. If you don't cook you can always use them for tree ornaments, or as a template for applique. What fun the holidays are.
P.S. by the way.....so sorry for my poorly written message last week. Appartently I was in worse shape than I thought as I tried to stay awake while typing late at night.

Christmas Cash
Would you like to earn a bit of extra money. Our Christmas Cash program is in effect till the end of November. With each $10 purchase in November you earn $1 in Christmas cash. Then in December bring back your Christmas Cash and apply them to anything you would like in the store.
For the next few weekends we will demo a craft project that would make a great  Christmas  gift.  This weekend  Nov. 16th and 17th is the mug rug and potholder . These are easy and quick to make.  Many of you have seen these before in the shop but it is amazing how it is still new to so many. I will also have a recipe for everyone that stops in this weekend.

Our shop transformation is underway... I have moved some of the shelving and started with the small projects and have my Honey on board with the woodworking/building aspect of things. Hope to have it all done by the New Year. Can't wait to share more with you soon.
Yesterday we received sad news --The Creative Stitch will become a long arm quilting business only. While Linda will not be gone from the quilting world completely she will be missed as a fellow quilt shop owner.

This industy is tough. Our profit margins are small while it cost just as much for utilities , wages, taxes, ect. as it does for the other higher profit businesses.  Most shop owners in the industry have used their own money and energy to start their business. There are no grants, loans or subsidies ...we have built our businesses from scratch.

Quilt shop owner and staff work hard to bring you the newest fabrics, patterns and notions to make your stitching experience enjoyable.  At times people come to my shop only for inspriration.  I am happy that they think of me when they need motivation.  Each time you support your favortie quilt shop/shops you are encouraging that shop to remain open.

The biggest compliment you can give Linda is to stop in and tell her thank you, and then shop to help her reduce her inventory. Allow her to recover her investment now! I know that her decision was very hard and she didn't make it lightly. She has enjoyed serving the quilting industry for the last several years.
Our Kansas Trouble Block of the Month meets Nov. 15th at 5:30. We are just about finished up with this wonderful quilt. Down to just applique and borders

Call out Reminder for the New BOM that will start in January is also tomorrow night Nov. 15th at 6:30.  This will be the one I showed in the last newsletter. All attending or already signed up will get thier name in the drawing for the signed copy of Edytas new book.
Happy Stitching
